Foxconn Industrial Internet and Dynamic Computing Technology Launch Electric Vehicle Cloud Service Software Marketplace

Hon Hai Technology Group continues to invest in the commercial topology of the electric vehicle industry. In addition to launching actual electric vehicles, it also simultaneously implements the layout of the software. Its subsidiary Foxconn Industrial Internet (Fii) and Dynamic Computing Technology jointly launched the EV Cloud Service Marketplace for electric vehicle cloud service software. Both companies demonstrate strong service integration capabilities and hopes to generate more intelligent applications to further implement software-defined vehicles (SDVs).

Fii said that the development of electric vehicles will depend on two key factors, one is light weight, and the other is intelligence(smart). The application of 5G plus MEC in electric vehicles will achieve the intelligence of future cars. Using 5G and MEC technology, through the mass connections, to achieve a complete autonomous response, with reliable technology synergy, and supplemented by big data computing, can the future car intelligence be achieved.

The EV Cloud Service Marketplace developed by Dynamic Computing Technology and Fii’s HPC R&D team, demonstrates the advanced intelligence and excellent integration of applications.

Fii pointed out that the driving data management platform, will constantly record car images and sensors, makes it easy for managers to review driving records and manage vehicle status; the EV software algorithm development platform records vehicle data while building a trajectory data set, selects the required computing resources, and performs marker viewing and training functions to enhance machine learning and prepare for advanced driving behaviors in the future.

For ordinary users, the driving algorithm simulation platform provides a safer functional design. Developers can use the existing models to simulate the safety range and road risks and other realistic driving conditions, so that the users will aware the road conditions and response earlier. As for third-party vendor software launch services, it allows third-party vendors to specifically launch their own software to enrich the platform content and add value to the overall platform solution.

In this regard, Dynamic Computing Technology also stated that the connectivity ecology of electric vehicle is like the human nervous system, providing instructions for action; while electricity is like blood. Without electricity, no matter how high intelligence is, it can't move. It shows that electric vehicle power management is of the utmost importance. Together with Fii HPC team, we jointly developed a regional power demand forecast system that can simulate Taipower's daily power estimation to provide backup demand and exchange power information with Yuden's EMS dual system to improve the overall solution.

In the future world of software to defined vehicles, both parties also pointed that, with the advantages in ICT industry, their open platform concept will provide capabilities for the development support in smart driving, smart gateways and smart cockpit, which echoes the relevant layout actions that Hung Hai itself is engaged in.
